East Anglian Air Ambulance Trek 24 Event

The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is a charity providing a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) for the 4 million people of East Anglia, including the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire. We provide advanced clinical care 365 days a year from our two bases in Norwich and Cambridge Airports from where our two helicopters can reach anywhere in the region within 25 minutes.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, EAAA has undertaken additional roles to support the NHS by providing critical care transfer teams (doctors and paramedics) to assist the Ambulance Service Trust in moving Covid-19 patients between hospitals in the region, using our Cambridge based helicopter.
Unfortunately, since March 2020 the charity hasn’t been able to hold mass fundraising events, naturally resulting in a reduction in its income. However, with the recent relaxation in Covid-19 restrictions we have just launched Trek 24, our 24 mile and 24km trekking event series.
Two Trek 24 events were planned to take place in 2020 but both were unable to go ahead due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Optimistically looking ahead to this summer, EAAA is excited to now be organising three Trek 24 events (Suffolk, Bedfordshire, and Norfolk). For the first time ever, the event is coming to Bedfordshire, taking place on Saturday 4th September, starting and finishing in the beautiful grounds of Hexton Manor, near to Barton-le-Clay.
